Step 1 Preparation

Before getting started, ensure that Home Assistant is installed and the GW70-Ti is connected to the host’s USB port.

If not yet installed, please follow the Home Assistant Installation Guide.

Step 2 Install Add-ons and Integration

When connecting HA through the Zigbee2MQTT Add-on, you need to install two add-ons:

1、Mosquitto broker (MQTT Broker)

2、Zigbee2MQTT

 Install MQTT Broker

Go to Settings → Add-ons → Add-on store and install the Mosquitto broker add-on, then start it.

Install Zigbee2MQTT

Go to Settings → Add-ons → Add-on store and install the Zigbee2MQTT add-on, then start it.

Step 3 Determine the serial port path

Go to Settings → System → Hardware, click on System hardware, and filter the list by  tty .
The port is usually /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ttyUSB1. If multiple ports appear, unplug the Dongle from the host’s USB port and watch which port disappears; plug it back in and see which one reappears – that is your coordinator's path.
Note this path for the next configuration step.

Step 4 Configure Zigbee2MQTT

Open the Zigbee2MQTT add-on→ click start →open web UI

Step 5 Add and manage zigbee devices

After completing the configuration, start the Zigbee2MQTT add-on. Wait for about two minutes,

then you can click to enter the Web UI Console to add and manage devices.

Step 1 Preparation

Before getting started, ensure that Home Assistant is installed and the GW70-Ti is connected to the host’s USB port.

If not yet installed, please follow the Home Assistant Installation Guide.

Step 2: Install Integration

When connecting HA through ZHA, you need to install Zigbee Home Automation Integration .

Step 3: Add and manage zigbee devices

After completing the configuration, start the ZHA. Wait for about two minutes, then you can click to

enter the Web UI Console to add and manage devices.

Overview

Please connect the device to the USB port of the host, and install the appropriate driver according to the host operating system.

Note:The HA70 or HA80 Home Assistant box already has the driver installed and does not require further installation. If your

operating system already has CP210x driver by default. No installation is required.you can connecting to Open-source Platforms directly.

Flash as Zigbee Coordinator mode

Use the AVATTO Dongle Flasher to flash firmware.
Connect the Device → Select the Firmware → Start Flashing

Flash as Zigbee Router mode

1: Install the Silicon Labs CP2102 driver on Windows or macOS to enable proper recognition of the device connected via USB.

2: Connect the GW70-Ti to the computer's USB port. Then navigate to My Computer → Device Manager to view the USB port number.

3: Open the following website: https://dongle.avattosmart.com/  to complete the upgrade.

Connect the Device → Select the Firmware → Start Flashing

Firmware Overview for GW70-Ti

The GW70Ti (AVATTO Zigbee 3.0 Dongle) supports two distinct firmware modes. You can only run one at a time.

◆ Factory Pre-flash

The GW70-Ti ships pre-flashed as a Zigbee Coordinator.

Simply plug the dongle into a USB port on the host running Home Assistant, then add it as a Zigbee integration (ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT). No manual firmware flashing is required.

◆ Mode Selection – Important

The Coordinator and Router modes are mutually exclusive.

You can only flash one firmware at a time. After flashing, the dongle will function solely in that mode and cannot operate as both simultaneously.

To switch roles, you must re-flash the device with the other firmware.
